Method

Traditional transect survey use straight lines to survey wildlife distribution and abundance. Nocturnal mammals are more sensitive to noise and human presence thus we have to adapt those transect. We are using trail already in place to do our transect allowing us to be more silent and thus detect more animals.

To enhance the detection of animals at night we are also using a thermal device that allow us to detect the body heat of any mammals without any light.
